Ali's Mother's Day Show

Days like these are the ones that mothers live for!

Ali's nursery school, Heidi Ovoda, is honestly the best around! They put so much effort into events like the one they had on Wednesday afternoon.

Ali's was the smallest group to perform and here are some shots and videos for you to see.

Ali was the only child in her group that spotted me (with Mia) and ran to me before their performance finished. Nobody minded. I loved the early cuddle. She went back for my mother's day gifts and ran them over to me quickly.

Saturday, May 3 BBQ

This was our first big bbq of the year. It was a great day except for a couple short segments of rain. We didn't really mind. We now have the attitude that once you put your mind to it you just have to go with the flow. The great part about the day was that as soon as the rain disappeared the sun would shoot out so the kids would run for the outdoors. They all enjoyed each other's company and everyone got along.

During the day we pulled out these fun dart guns. Emmanuel, one of the dads seemed to have the most fun playing. They took turns standing in front of our glass doors as they were shot around. The darts each had little suctions so it was funny to watch them stick to the glass around each person's body.

During the short rainfalls, the kids gathered inside to watch movies. Curt brought so many fantastic ones from his last China visit. You can't see them all here but there ARE 15 on all the sofas and chairs. It looked so funny to walk by and see all of them. The amazing thing is that they were all really absorbed into it - even though a few kids didn't speak any English.

Mia was really helpful in passing around the kids' dessert. Cupcakes!

The boys are always attracted to the outdoor fire pit. It was the perfect night to all sit around a nice toasty fire. We never even made it to marshmallows. The kids went back in to watch Meet the Robinsons and the adults enjoyed yummy red wine around the fire.
