More Visitors

This must be the month for visitors. Last weekend we had our friends Eric and Lesley with their 2 daughters spend 3 nights with us while traveling around Europe. Eric and Lesley used to live in Budapest (then Belgrade) but returned to the US about 4 or 5 years ago. It was great having them spend a long weekend with us. Their 2 daughters (ages 8 and 6) got along with our trio so perfectly. We're not really sure if they all remember each other at all. The last time we all got together was about 1 1/2 years ago. This was really rare as within about 10 mins of them arriving - last Friday night - their daughters completely hit it off with ALL three of our kids. I was worried that maybe Terence or Ali would feel left out but the 5 of them played fantastically all weekend long! As always, they were great guests to have.

Below are some photos of our outdoor lunch up at Normafa Cafe and Grill last weekend. Austin is with us as he arrived earlier that day. It was a delicious lunch and the kids enjoyed playing hide and seek in their large outdoor play area.

PS Notice Ali on Austin's lap... This was only day 1... (fyi - she's a bit shy). They developed a strong, quick bond. She misses him so much!

Mia had a cat face painted from her dance class earlier that day. Their class dressed in full costume and make-up with a photographer there taking snaps for the moms and dads to purchase closer to the recital time (early June).

Wearing Daddy's shades as it was very sunny...

Our Visitors

Curt and I are practicing being parents of teenagers and it is a whole different experience. We had my fantastic nephew, Austin, here in Budapest for 8 days. He was a great guest and we loved getting to know him better and showing him an entirely new world. It was his first visit to Budapest and it was so fun. He's the coolest 17 year old around! Love, love, love him!!! We were all very sad to say good-bye to him and today Ali (4) just told me - out of the blue - that she missed Austin so much. Cute!

Colleen is our other fantastic teenage visitor. We are friends with Colleen's parents who live near Kiawah, South Carolina where we spend our summers. She is 19 and here for a few weeks. The two of them became friends quickly and spent some time exploring Budapest night life. Here are a couple snaps of them heading out for the evening.

Easter Morning

Happy Easter Everyone!

Easter sprung up so quickly this year. We've been so, so, so busy. I managed to get some decorations up, organize an Easter lunch bbq and prepare for the Easter bunny's visit - but just barely. Sadly, my nephew had to fly home this morning (boo hoo). Poor guy had to get in his taxi for the airport at 5am...

We didn't get around to coloring Easter eggs but maybe we can do it this week. Does it really matter that it is on Easter or just around the same time??

The kids went to bed very excited about the Easter bunny's visit. Terence, however, was in on the big secret so helped out a lot.

In the morning, the girls woke up at a very early hour (7am) and managed to stay inside until we finally crawled out of bed at 8am. Then, out the door they went to hunt for their eggs and look through their baskets that the Easter bunny left on the outdoor table. The 4th one is for Colleen. A family friend who is visiting us from South Carolina for the next couple of weeks. Colleen is 19 years old.

The kids hunted for about 30 mins (okay, maybe it was more like 10 mins) for their 60 eggs!

Some Easter decorations. Nothing better than peanut m&ms. I always have to get them in the holiday colors and put them out. Adore these pastel colors that they put out for Easter.

And, the flowers popping up in my garden. Love spring!! Aren't they so pretty?
