At the end of April, on the 29th to be exact, Mia finally opened up her first bank account. The bank that Curt and I have an account at in Hungary is CIB Bank - an Italian bank. They allow children from the age of 6 years old to open up a bank account which Mia had to do. We discovered this with Terence but he didn't get his first bank account opened up until the age of 7 - shortly after his birthday. Mia had 6,520 HUF which she'd been saving up from pocket money and the tooth fairy's last 2 visits (she's only lost 2 teeth in total). This equals about $31 US. Since she opened up her bank account she has already gained .87 HUF in interest, deposited another 1,000HUF and received her first ATM card.
Here are some photos of our bank account opening experience. I'm so proud of Mia!
